The Asia–Pacific Journal of Financial Studies (AJFS) invites manuscripts for a special issue on “Banks and Climate Risks,” scheduled for publication in 2025. AJFS became the first finance journal published in the Asia-Pacific region covered by the Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) in 2006. Visit

This special issue invites both empirical and theoretical papers on broad ranges of topics and geographies related to Banks and Climate Risks. A central theme is bank and policymaker optimization – banks seeking opportunities to manage their own risks as they tackle climate-related financial risks, and policymakers respecting this choice when making their own optimizing decisions in regulation, supervision, and enforcement. We include, but do not limit, contributions to:
· Physical and transition climate risks;
· Bank credit, market, and operational risks;
· Private-sector banks, state-owned banks, special-purpose banks;
· National, regional, and global policymaking organizations;
· Geographies covering Europe/Africa/ Americas/Asia/Australia/Global.
